What are your thoughts on beginning your position with Friends Helping at Home in Plymouth?

Joining the FHAH family has been an incredibly enriching experience, though the learning curve has been steep. The warm welcome and abundant support have made all the difference—I just need to remind myself to reach out when needed.

How do you spend your time when you’re not working on the Plymouth Branch?

We’re a lively bunch with two amazing kids aged 4 and 15, keeping us on our toes with various clubs and activities. Our delightful chocolate lab, Rolo, adds a calming presence to our home in his later years, although he still enjoys a good walk and living in picturesque Plymouth allows us to relish the local surroundings. Harvey thrives at the gym, pushing his limits with his personal trainer, while I find joy in baking while indulging in a good romantic comedy. Life is bustling, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

How would you describe a typical day for you at the Friends Helping at Home – Plymouth branch?

Effective time management and planning are crucial aspects of our journey here in Plymouth. I’m in the process of discovering the optimal order and balance for our activities. This involves establishing connections with service providers, engaging with home clients, networking, and handling day-to-day administrative tasks. Through ongoing training, I’m dedicated to gaining a deeper understanding of how to best support both service providers and their home clients. It’s a continuous learning process, and I’m committed to refining our approach for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Do you have any additional information or thoughts you’d like to share with the Friends community?

Both Harvey and I believe in client centers care and support. Striving for the best possible service for all. My customer service background and Harvey’s attention to detail in the safety industry, we are working hard to build a successful branch.
