Our at-home care community in Devon
Our Teignbridge Branch hosted a MacMillan Coffee Morning.
A humongous thankyou to everyone who donated and joined us for some cake,
coffee and laughter!
This weekend Jo participated in Relay for Life in Plymouth.
It is a 24 hour event that raises funds all year round for Cancer Research UK.
Jo is a cancer survivor and celebrated 25 years
this year since her diagnosis!
Taking it in turns, in teams, to relay throughout 24 hours to show cancer that we will beat it!
Cancer doesn’t sleep so nor do we in fighting it.
The event is held every year to celebrate our survivors, celebrate the progress made in the research through the funds that have been raised to fight this disease that affects so many and also to remember those that have lost their lives to cancer – Jo’s husband being one of them!
So far this year, the event has raised £26,754.56 with more donations coming in until the end of September when it starts all over again.
Please get in contact with us if you would like more information or to participate in Relay for Life next year.

Neil is the first beneficiary of our
Friends Helping at Home Communities fund.
Neil was desperate to attend the celebrations in Plymouth. As a Falklands veteran, he especially wanted to mark the 40th Anniversary of the end of the Falklands Conflicts. Through the fund, we were able to pay for someone to support Neil in attending the celebrations. Our Teignbridge Branch created a Bake Off in aid of raising money for Red Nose Day. Branches and Service Providers got involved, raising money and voting for which cake they believe should be the winner. A was the winner and you can see by the smile on her face that she is chuffed with the process, outcome and money raised by her amazing work!
