Friendly and professional at-home care agency in Devon
Friends Helping at Home provide a quality enabling and caring service.
We introduce professional, checked, registered Service Providers that you can meet before deciding whether you wish to book them.
We are not a typical care agency.
We offer a highly personalised and affordable service with a dedicated person in your area – your point of contact to help you find the services you want, when you want.
Our customers can save between 10-20% on their costs and enjoy total control of selecting known helpers and carers.
Every service provider and carer undertakes a rigorous interview process, by a local branch manager. This includes ensuring that enhanced DBS checks, references and insurance are in place.
If you have decided that one of our at-home care services is the best solution for you, then there is a solution that most families requiring adult social care are entitled to – the ‘Managed Payment’ scheme, offered by every council in England.
The Managed Payment scheme places the funding of care into the hands of the family, enabling them to select the care provider they prefer and the level of care they feel suitable.
The council will assess the needs of your loved one and determine an amount as a budget you to use.
This can be anything from £50 up to £600 per week depending on your needs and finances.
Your local Friends branch director will be happy to help discuss your entitlements and help steer you through the maze, as every local authority may be different, with the flexibility to top up the services that you need.
Frequently asked questions
Does having home care result in a loss of independence?
Not at all, sometimes it’s easier to have someone around to do the tasks you don’t want to do, regardless of health or other limitations. The Service Providers we introduce all offer exceptional care services.
What if I don’t like the Service Provider I'm matched with?
You simply book only the Service Providers you like. That’s why we take the time to understand your requirements, hobbies, and personal preferences and then make personal introductions to trusted providers in your area. There’s no pressure or commitment on your part.
How long does it take to find a Service Provider?
It can be a quick as 24 hours!
