On Saturday, June 1st, fourteen brave service providers from Friends Helping at Home completed a thrilling 15,000 ft, 60-second freefall skydive to raise funds for Rowcroft Hospice. We are ecstatic to announce that we have raised an astounding £6,275, far surpassing our original goal of £5,000!

What an incredible day it was, filled with a mix of nervous anticipation, camaraderie, and sheer exhilaration. Each of our participants displayed immense courage and determination, taking the ultimate leap of faith for a cause close to our hearts. Their bravery and team spirit were truly inspiring, and I felt immensely proud to be part of such a supportive and driven community.

A huge shoutout to the entire team at SkyBuzz for their energy and passion in ensuring our skydiving experience was both safe and unforgettable. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hayley from Rowcroft Hospice, who has been our champion from the very beginning. Her presence on the day, complete with games, t-shirts, and emergency post-jump Haribo, helped keep our spirits high and nerves in check.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who turned up to support us on the day and to those who made donations, no matter how big or small. Your presence and contributions made a significant difference, and we are incredibly thankful for your support. To anyone considering signing up for this experience, I have this hope for you: I hope that somewhere between the clouds and the nervous laughter, you realize that you can achieve anything you set your mind to, no matter how scared you may be. We are all capable of stepping outside our comfort zones, and even if the first 60 seconds of a new adventure seem unpredictable and a little scary… the parachute always opens, the calm always comes, and the views are always worth it.
