Dana joined our Torbay team in June as
Branch Office Manager

Dana recently joined Friends Helping at Home in June, and works behind the scenes with Karen, the Branch Director, to grow and develop the branch which covers Brixham, Paignton and Torquay.

The head office team met Dana at an Interview Day we ran for the role.

We introduced a new format for the interview day which worked well,  enabling everyone to relax, it involved ‘ice-breaker’ games, presentations from candidates, and lots of laughter. This allowed us to gain a better in depth understanding of each of the candidate’s approach to the role,  core values and  a clearer understanding that Dana was the perfect candidate for the Branch Office Manager role. We are pleased with how well Dana has done in her new role and fitted into the Friends family!

Dana previously worked within the NHS and has had previous care experience with Elderly Care, Learning Disability and Mental Health.

We have found Dana to be an incredible team member to the Torbay Branch, Dana has given us some lovely feedback on how she has found the Branch Manager role. Dana says that she loves the genuine Friends ethos an approach that enables flexible working and recognition and the wonderful inpact this has for our clients and self employed service providers that have the time for each client.

We asked Dana: “My favorite part of the role is… all of it, I really enjoy all of it.
I love how person centered to the clients this role is and I am enjoying getting out there and meeting the clients.
It’s nice building good working relationships with the service providers, the Torbay team have made me feel welcome, they are such a great team, the teamwork between the service providers is exceptional.

I appreciate that the company ethos matches the role I have been given, it is lovely to work for a company who put their true face forwards, truly putting ‘care at the heart’ of everything they do.

It’s been a steep learning curb into the care industry, getting to grip with all the policies and procedures, but I have enjoyed the journey and look forward to using what I have learned to keep developing along with my friend’s family.”

Dana lives in Brixham and is very positive and practical, loves crafts and enjoys gardening, art, and cooking in her spare time. Dana is also an animal lover who enjoys taking in rescues and giving them a life full of love.

Karen is the Branch Director and franchise owner in Torbay and is extremely pleased with her new Branch Office Manager!

We asked Karen for some feedback: “Dana is very friendly and person centered, this has proved to have been an enormous help to the Torbay branch, helping us grow whilst maintaining our quality and systems. My office atmosphere has been superb since Dana has joined the office team, not only has the branch grown but the laughs and smiles that have filled the office have been fantastic. Dana has picked up the role quickly but also aided me in learning new skills (especially IT) our Torbay Team is growing into a true Friends Helping At Home Family.”

Dana has been a wonderful addition to the Friends Helping at Home family, although she is based and works in the Torbay Branch, her wonderful attitude and drive has not gone unnoticed by all the head office team!
