Karen Breyley, Our New Branch Manager at Friends Helping at Home, Torbay
Karen has worked professionally for many years within the care industry, gaining an NVQ3 in Health and Social Care.
Karen is a recruitment specialist for one of the largest regulated care companies, interviewing and placing nursing and care staff for a wide range of clients in Torbay and the South West.
She’s leaving them to set up her own business running the Torbay branch of Friends Helping at Home.
Before working in care recruitment Karen worked for a housing support service that provided everything that clients needed to be able to live in their own home.
Her former boss says that Karen, “excelled in supporting people in their home environment, providing knowledge and resources to enable a more safe and secure future (for them)”
We have to say that we found Karen to be a bubbly people person who is a caring professional, empathetic and pleasant in all her dealings.
We think that Karen is an ideal “go-to person” when needing to find care or host of other services that may be needed in helping at home.
Karen says that Friends Helping at Home is just the service that’s needed. “With the Friend Helping at Home caring ethos, focused on the customer, my role is to help bring the right people (service providers and customers) together.
In doing so, ensuring customer safety, value for money – so that every customer gets the service they want.
My aim in life is to be happy and spread that joy to others.
I have unpressurised time to respond to customers by telephone and/or a home visit sorting out their requirements so customers can remain living a better life in their own home.

When not working, Karen likes to relax in the garden, play with her grandchildren, listen to music and enjoy a chat with friends.
