The value of staying at home
The comfort of your own home should always be the preferred, affordable option compared with moving into a care home. One of the reasons why many have to move into a care home, is the difficulty associated with finding the right person and the high charges that some companies charge for live-in care.
We provide a single point of contact to help you find the right help and professional carers to stay living at home at an affordable price.
We are often asked, what are the typical costs of living at home with 24×7 live-in help compared with moving into a “home”? As a guide, typical weekly rates for a live-in carer are eight hundred pounds plus household costs. So the costs are often comparable or less than moving into a care home.
The benefits if you’re able to stay living at home are maintaining the familiarity and comfort of your surroundings. You won’t need to give up your favourite chair, or being able to enjoy the food that you like. The ‘staff ratio’ is 1:1 and always centered around the customer. You also have flexibility to change arrangements.
Our Branch Manager will be pleased to arrange a free visit, without any obligation on your part, to discuss your requirements. We then recruit and introduce professional carers for you to meet. You book those that you want. It’s always your choice.
We undertake all the background checks, ensuring that the care professionals that we introduce are properly self-employed, insured, trained. We look for evidence of training and take up past employer references as well as DBS checks. So you know that you are getting a safe and professional service.
Whilst we do not recommend or have any involvement with financial services, there are professional providers who can advice you on investment income or arrange equity release to arrange any “shortfall” for longer term funding.
We do recommend that you speak to your solicitor about the options and future planning.
