The success of our first Friends Helping at Home Ball was truly heartwarming!

We express our gratitude to all who graced the occasion and contributed to making it a night to remember!

We are thrilled to announce that we were able to raise a fantastic total of £4,050
for our beloved local hospices – St Lukes, Rowcroft Hospice and Exeter Hospice Care. This will surely go a long way in providing much-needed support and care for those who need it the most. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to this noble cause and helped make a positive impact in our community.

Cheque Presentation to Hospices Leads to Great Care Debate, and It’s Not What You Think!

During our cheque presentation photo shoot, we had a delightful afternoon indulging in Devon cream tea.
However, we soon realized that our group was split into two camps – those who preferred to spread the cream first and then the jam, and those who did it the other way around!
The debate will continue, both sides becoming increasingly entrenched.

Our First Charity Ball

What inspired the launch of our annual Charity Ball?
As our previous blog post mentioned, this year marks the 5th anniversary of Friends Helping at Home. We are filled with pride for all that we have accomplished, and we believe our success is due to the unwavering support of everyone involved. To honour this achievement, we decided to host a celebration. We invited all those who have contributed to our incredible journey to join us at a Ball. Without the support of our community, Friends Helping at Home would not be the organisation it is today.

Why did you choose the three local hospices as your chosen charities?

We are grateful for the opportunity to support St Lukes’s, Rowcroft Hospice and Exeter Hospice Care. These charities are genuinely impressive and provide incredible support to our local community. As a company, Friends Helping at Home has had clients who were in their end-of-life stage, and the families of these clients received invaluable assistance from hospices in the area. We have seen firsthand the profound impact that these hospices have had on the lives of our clients and their families. We are honoured to be able to give back to these organisations that have done so much for those in need.

When is the next Friends Helping at Home event?
Exciting news is on the horizon!
We are planning an annual event that will be the talk of the town. This event will be an excellent opportunity to raise funds for local charities and unite everyone.

We can’t reveal too much right now, but keep your eyes peeled on our website and Facebook pages for upcoming details. You won’t want to miss this!

Nina from St Luke’s summarised for us:
“The event was a tremendous success and the amount raised exceeded all our expectations. We did enjoy our night and are looking forward to the next event.”
